Yes I completely believe in non conventional medical treatments. I have chronic back pain and saw a chiropractor but for other reasons, was not able to continue these sessions. Up until then, I was receiving relief. The alternative is physical therapy, which I am receiving a lot of relief.
I have not tried acupuncture but know someone who has tried this and experienced relief right away.
Personally, I try anything and everything to avoid taking any kind of medication. I have to be in excruciating pain before I give in to take anything.
