Sharp chest pain anxiety is very bad

February 26th, 2011
Ryan asked:

Panic Disorder is defined by unexpected, but common panic or anxiety that usually occurs spontaneously: “out of nowhere … without reason I felt chest pain and anxiety.” Easy situational (phobic) panic may be found, but for the most part there is no consistent escape. Unexplainably, when panics {begin to occur in crowded areas, panickers tend to ascribe the episode to geoing to those placese, and they come to avoid crowded areas as per the condition called Agoraphobia with Panic Attacks. Avoidance does not happen when panics strike the sufferer is in other spots, like at homeor on a mountain-few, if any, agoraphobics avoid places they need to survive.

Anxiety is defined by a sudden emergence of signs like anxiety chest pain or discom¬fort; dizziness, or unsteady feelings; paresthesias (usu¬ally numbness and tingling ); sweating; trembling or shaking; and fear of going crazy, or doing something uncontrolled during an attack. Every one of these signs can be caused by hyperventilation. Three manic episode during a three-week period are needed to pass the requirements for the conclusion of this condition, but men and women with traditional signs, like anxiety chest pain, who fail to experience three panics in such a short time may also suffer from a form of Panic Disorder.

Females are somewhat more likely than males to suffer from this disorder. The first signs most often occur in high adolescence or early adult life but may begin somewhat earlier or later. Sometimes people suffering describe that it lasts for a short amount of time never to happen again; others experience a couple series of panics scattered by panic-free periods of time, and a few develop a severe condition with frequent panics and anxiety attack chest pain. Some men and women use liquor in an effort to avoid panics and anxiety chest pain, which is ineffective and may lead to the complications associated with liquor abuse.

People with Anxiety Chest Pain often seek evaluation and help from family doctors because they are reasonably frightened that they may suffer from a severe chronic condition. By the time they reach a doctor, the scary feeling has usually disappeared and the doctor can find nothing mentally misaligned. In the emergency room, a conclusion of “acute hyperventilation syndrome” is often drawn upon, which may initially be gratifying to both physician and patient but which does little or nothing to ensure a more definitive diagnosis and efficient treatment. The person may feel disconcerted that he or she has been alarmed about nothing but leave calm by a careful checkup. When the next manic episode occurs, help is often sought again, either from the same or another physician. One experiment found that patients with a Panic Disorder had seen an average of 10 doctors before the disorder was finally pin pointed. General anxiety may happen between attacks, as may some chest pain anxiety and avoidance, although if the latter become more apparent, a conclusion of Agoraphobia with Panic is made.

A Brief Overview Of Natural Muscle Relaxers

February 26th, 2011

Prior to the development of drug-based muscle relaxants, people have been using natural remedies to alleviate muscle spasms and soothe stiff joints. These natural muscle relaxants are often herbs and common plants that provide the same effect as drug-based relaxants without the compromise of possibly severe side effects. Some of these popular remedies for stiff joints and muscle spasms can be found right in one’s garden or in community health stores.

Common Natural Remedies for Muscle Spasms

Chamomile

Chamomile is a natural sedative that is often used not only for the treatment of muscle spasms, but also for common disorders like menstrual cramps, tension headaches, and neuralgia. The sedative properties of chamomile works by easing the tightness in the muscles while its anti-inflammatory qualities soothe stiffened joints.

Valerian

An effective relaxant, valerian used to be known as the all-cure during the medieval times. Rightly so since this herb’s sedative properties has been used throughout the ages to cure disorders caused by muscle spasms and tension. Valerian is especially effective against contracted muscles and neck tension.

Catnip

Particularly effective in alleviating smooth muscle tension, oils extracted from catnip are useful in relieving menstrual cramps and colic. Catnip also has anti-inflammatory qualities that help reduce swelling in the joints and muscles.

Other notable plants with antispasmodic properties include common herbs like basil, bergamot, cardamom, and caraway. Although taking natural muscle-relaxing agents has no or minimal side effects, it is still important to consult a doctor before taking any.

Tips on Taking Herbal Muscle Relaxers

Despite the relative safety and efficacy of any natural muscle relaxant, care should be taken in taking them. Below are some tips that can help maximize the benefits of these muscle relaxants:

1.  Consult a doctor first. It is important to get the view of a health professional before taking any alternative muscle relaxant. The herbs may negate the effects of any medication you are currently taking.

2.  Study the proper use of the herbs you intend to take. Be informed of the proper dosage and preparation of the herbs to maximize their effects. For example, only the roots of the valerian plant are used while an excessively high dosage of catnip can cause nausea.

3.  Get herb supplies from a trusted source. These herbal remedies for muscle spasms can be cultivated in one’s garden. But, if it is not possible, ensure that the herbs you are going to use for relieving muscle spasms are prepared carefully. Chamomile can be bought in groceries or health food stores while valerian roots are available in capsule form. Take note of brand names and do some research to ensure your safety.

Taking natural remedies for muscle spasms is a convenient and healthy way to ease the discomfort of contracted muscles. With the right information and proper consultation with health professionals, anyone can benefit from these natural relievers of muscle spasms.

Pauline Go asked:

Sexually transmitted diseases or STDs are venereal diseases which occur when you have sexual contact or sexual intercourse with an infected person. In women, sexually transmitted diseases can lead to infertility, miscarriage, premature birth of the child or infection in the newborn baby.

Sexually transmitted diseases spread through transfer of body fluids like semen, vaginal secretions and blood. However, there are ways to protect yourself from STDs provided you know all the facts pertaining to sexually transmitted diseases.

o Avoid having multiple sex partners. You never know whether one of your sex partners has STD, and if he does, you will surely end up getting it.

o Sexually transmitted diseases are extremely contagious and even if you are in a monogamous relationship and your partner has STD from a previous relationship, there is 80 to 90 percent chance that you will get infected. Make sure your partner gets treated before having sex with him or her.

o You can also get sexually transmitted diseases through anal sex, and oral sex.

o A mother can pass on STD to her child during childbirth if she is infected with STD.

o Sexually transmitted diseases weaken the immune system and you are susceptible to catch other infections because of this.

o Many times STDs in women are misdiagnosed because the symptoms are not very clear. When this happens, a woman can easily end up infecting her partner.

o Lesbians are less likely to get STDs as sexually transmitted diseases are not easily spread from one woman to another.

o Bisexual men can contract STDs from their homosexual partner and pass it on to their heterosexual partner.

The best way to protect yourself from sexually transmitted diseases is to use protection and condoms are the most effective method till date.
